Trying to figure out my editor....by Dr. Mike

Hi everyone, it's Dr. Mike.
Politically, Wisconsinology's editor is a tough one to figure out. He claims to be a Wisconsin independent. I don't have a clue. I asked him these questions at Dr. Jekyll's, a bar in Appleton. His drink is a Brandy Old Fashioned sour. For the record, he laughs at everything and does not take himself seriously at all. I pounded three Jamesons and chased them with a fine pilsner while conducting this interview.
What would be your first act if elected Governor?
I'd tax religion.
Second act?
Tax religion again, and keep taxing. Like tobacco.
Do you believe that Church is important to the well being of a community?
Yes. Absolutely. It's obviously very important. But I'd still tax it.
Who is the greatest American president?
Abraham Lincoln.
Who is the worst?
A tie. Jimmy Carter and Andrew Jackson.
Carter's been a good man in his post presidential life.
(laughs)Big fucking deal. Since when are we handing out plaudits and medals to individuals for being a "good man"? I have a dozen neighbors who are good men. It should be expected and unspoken. (he got animated here)"Hey, look at me, I'm a good man, I started the Iraq/Iran war and now I'm building houses for born again Christians."
Do you like Ron Paul?
No. The world has changed greatly since he cemented his views and I don't trust people who can't change their minds.
Speaking of which, what do you think about the term "born again"?
It's a form of mental illness.
What about the after life?
Energy can't die. Einstein.
Were the Indians screwed?
Absolutely. Chief Blackhawk was chased across Wisconsin mostly by an armed mob of drunken assholes barely removed from, and, in fact, not quite up to their medieval peasant roots. There is no such thing as brave American pioneers, there is only land hungry peasants and business speculators. And it's all very interesting, it's the stuff of high drama. I think the HBO show "Deadwood", got it right."

Yes.

Yes.
I'm a Democrat.

A lot of your friends are Democrats.
A lot of my friends are also Republicans. Two are Socialists. I really don't care. What's your point?

The candidate with the best Wisconsin connection.

Very much, and by the way, you're getting warm.

I'm not asking you what the Badger score is. I'm answering your question. In such a situation, I would really want to know what the score of the Badger game was.
